Melbourne couple rescued after CBD flooding

Firefighters have rescued two people who became trapped in flood waters in Melbourne's CBD overnight.

The couple's BMW became stranded in a railway underpass at Dudley Street in West Melbourne at about 10pm.

Crews managed to push the vehicle out of the water.

The city has recorded more than 40 millimeters of rain in the last 24 hours.
