Mark Levy to succeed Ray Hadley as morning anchor on 2GB radio

Award-winning broadcaster Mark Levy will succeed radio veteran Ray Hadley as morning host on 2GB.

Hadley last month announced his retirement following a 43-year career in Sydney radio.

Levy has been a regular stand-in for Hadley and the popular Ben Fordham over an 18-year period.

2GB management said today he was the perfect fit to replace Hadley.

"As we usher in a new era of 2GB Mornings, Mark will make the 9am to 12pm timeslot his own, with a fresh take on what matters most to Sydneysiders," said the company's manager, Luke Davis.

Levy, who holds six Australian Commercial Radio Awards, said he was looking forward to his new role.

"As a young kid I grew up listening to the talkback kings and to be taking over a timeslot that's been owned by a mentor and a friend for the last 20 years is something I am excited and extremely honoured to do," he said.

Levy will begin his new role next Monday.
