A man has been hospitalised following a suspected tomahawk attack in Sydney’s north west last night.

Authorities were called to a unit block on Windsor Street in Richmond about 8pm, after witnesses reported hearing loud yelling.

However, police were unable to locate the victim or offender, who are believed to be known to each other, at the unit.

The 26-year-old victim was instead escorted by friends to a nearby shopping centre in an attempt to find medical assistance.

He was eventually located by paramedics and taken to hospital, where he remains with a serious leg wound.

The victim and his ex-girlfriend are refusing to speak with police.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
