Man who allegedly stalked girls victim of arson attack
In a bizarre twist of fate, a man who allegedly chased two girls around a suburb in Brisbane yelling "do you have tits?" has been told in court that his house burned down in an arson attack.
Mark Gordon Devlin, 49, was arrested after allegedly riding around Zillmere on his bike and yelling "Do you have tits? I wish I could see them!" at a pair of 10 and 14 year-old girls.
The girls managed to escape Devlin and hid in a nearby chicken farm.
They claim they encountered him on their way back home where he allegedly held his arms and legs out wide in order to prevent them from walking past.
Police said the girls managed to run off and steal Devlin's bike in the process.
During his appearance at Brisbane's City Watchhouse today, the judge informed Devlin that his house had burnt down overnight in an Australia Day arson attack while Devlin was behind bars.
Upon hearing the news a teary eyed Devlin told the court: "It doesn't surprise me, your Honour."
Devlin has been granted bail and will reappear in court in February.
