Man suffers deep cuts to the head after plunging 10m down a cliff in north Sydney

The man was winched to safety. 

A 39-year-old man has suffered cuts to his head after he plunged from a cliff on Sydney’s Lower North Shore last night.

The man was walking along Castle Cove Drive at Castle Cove when he fell through bushes and dropped 10m down a cliff, police said.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene at 11.40pm and found the man just after midnight at the cliff base.

He was winched to safety and taken to Royal North Shore hospital, suffering a number of deep cuts and lacerations to his head.

It is unclear how he fell, however The Daily Telegraph reports the man had been drinking alcohol before he plunged.
