Police hunt gang of thugs after brawl in Sydney's southwest

Police are hunting a gang of thugs after residents were forced to break up a brawl in Sydney's southwest.
A man stabbed after intervening to protect his family is tonight in a stable condition in Liverpool Hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
The 40-year-old from a neighbouring home tried to quell the violence before being stabbed.

The fight is believed to have broken out at a home on O'Brian Road in Mount Annan shortly before midnight yesterday.
A number of people fled the scene before police arrived.
Locals are shocked that a violent brawl would happen in their street, which they say is usually quiet.
Police are urging anybody with information to come forward.
