Man stabbed in head in Sydney

A man has been stabbed in the head in Sydney.

Emergency services were called to Redfern Street at Redfern on Saturday night after reports of a stabbing.

They found a 39-year-old man on the street with stab wounds to his head.

Police say it appeared an assault had occurred earlier at a nearby unit.

The injured man was taken to St Vincent's Hospital.

Police have set up two crime scenes on Redfern St and George St.
