Man on the run following alleged stabbing in Melbourne

Victoria Police is investigating an alleged stabbing death in Altona North this afternoon.

Investigators believe two men were involved in an altercation near the corner of Blackshaws Road and Grieve Parade just after 2.45pm.

A man, believed to be aged in his 20s, suffered a laceration to his torso.

He died after paramedics were unable to revive him.

The second man involved fled the scene before police arrived.

The homicide squad is now investigating the man's death.
