The suspect is accused of stabbing his partner three times with a kitchen knife at their Kensington unit around 7:30 this morning.
Police have said the shots fired into Gray’s car were a chemical agent designed to force him out of the vehicle.
The stabbing victim is in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
