Wounded man in hospital after shooting in Melbourne’s west
A man is in hospital after allegedly being shot in the leg with a shotgun during an early morning altercation in Braybrook, in Melbourne’s west.
The 32-year-old from Point Cook is believed to have suffered a gunshot wound to the knee cap, after a fight broke out with two other men at a McLennan Street unit this morning.
Police were on scene from about 7.30am, and the was victim taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Police have since taken a man into custody and are expecting to lay charges.
They allege they are familiar with the property where the shooting occurred and that the victim’s attackers were known to him.
The alleged shooting victim is expected to require surgery for his injuries.
