“Platforms 1 and 2 were evacuated as a precaution,” Victoria Police spokesman Leading Senior Constable Paul Turner said in a statement.

“The area has been deemed safe and police have cleared the scene.”

Police arrested a 21-year-old man at the scene, and he is assisting police with their enquiries.

No one was injured.

Twitter user Linton Wood said a man climbed onto a moving train and “left a bag”.

Police are investigating.
