Man fights for life in hospital after being found lying on Melbourne road
A man is fighting for life in hospital after being found lying on a road in Melbourne's east with critical injuries.
Police have been told the man, believed to be aged in his 60s, was found by a passer-by on Whittens Lane in Doncaster just after 5am today.
Paramedics treated him at the scene for upper body injuries before taking him to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives remain at the scene investigating the incident.
It remains unclear how the man sustained his life-threatening injuries.
