A young man is being treated for serious head injuries after falling from a balcony at a pub in Newcastle last night.
The 27-year-old toppled over the railing at the Prince of Wales Hotel and fell onto the road below.

It is believed he may have tripped and part of the railing broke under his weight as he grabbed for it.
He is being treated at the John Hunter Hospital.
