Charges laid over two deadly New South Wales crashes

Two people have been charged over separate crashes on New South Wales roads, which left a 17-year-old and a man dead.

The teen died after the vehicle he was in crashed on Cedar Party Road between Taree and Wingham on the Mid North Coast about 2.30am Saturday.

Another passenger of the vehicle, aged 18, was sent to Taree Hospital with minor injuries.

The 20-year-old driver has been charged with both dangerous and negligent driving causing death and driving while disqualified.

In Berrima, in the state's Southern Highlands, a man died after a truck crossed to the wrong side of the road and struck his ute about 4am Saturday.

Police believe the northbound B-double crossed into the southbound lanes of the Hume Highway and struck several vehicles, including the victim's ute.

The man was trapped in his vehicle and died at the scene.

The 63-year-old truck driver has been charged with dangerous driving occasioning death and dangerous driving.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or with dashcam footage of the events leading up to it to come forward.
