A man has been charged with murder after the shooting deaths of two people at a town on the NSW-Victoria border.
The bodies of Jolene Joyce and her partner, Jamie Edwards, both 36, were found inside a car on Old Deniliquin Road, Moama on Wednesday morning.
A 21-year-old Echuca man was arrested over a traffic offence yesterday. He was interviewed and charged with two counts of murder.
Deniliquin Superintendent Paul Condon thanked the local community for its patience.
“I want to thank the local community for all the support provided to investigators during this inquiry,” Supt Condon said.
“And I credit those who were involved and provided assistance.”
The man has been refused bail and will appear in Deniliquin Local Court today.
