Man charged with assaulting teenage girl

A 37-year-old man has been charged with sexually assaulting a teenage girl in the public toilets at a shopping centre in Sydney's west.

Police were called to a Parramatta shopping centre at about 1.30pm on Wednesday after a teenage girl contacted them saying her 13-year-old friend was inside a public toilet cubicle with a man.

Officers arrested a 37-year-old Dundas Valley man in the food court of the shopping centre.

He has been charged with having sexual intercourse with a child aged between 10 and 14, aggravated indecent assault and committing an act of indecency.

He will appear in Parramatta Local Court Thursday.
