A man is scheduled to appear in court today over the alleged stabbing of two people in Sydney's west.

He was arrested after emergency services were called yesterday afternoon to a home on Grimwood Street, Granville, following reports of a brawl inside the house.

Shortly later, police were told an 18-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman had presented at Westmead Hospital with stab wounds.

He remains in a serious but stable condition, while she is stable.

The pair were allegedly injured after being confronted by a man, known to them.

Later a 25-year-old man allegedly in possession of a knife and baseball bat was found at the intersection of Woodville Road and Union Street.

After being taken to hospital for treatment of a head cut, he was arrested.

He has been charged with two counts of wounding a person intending to cause grievous bodily harm (domestic violence).
