Man stabbed while trying to protect alleged attacker's girlfriend at Sydney pub

A man is in hospital after he was stabbed in the stomach during an argument at a Sydney pub.
A 54-year-old man was reportedly arguing with his girlfriend around 7pm yesterday at the Hornsby Railway Hotel on Station Street, when a 30-year-old friend of the woman stepped in to break up the fight.
Police allege the two men engaged in an argument, during which the 30-year-old was stabbed in the stomach.
Emergency services were called to the pub and the injured man was treated by paramedics before being taken to the Royal North Shore Hospital.
He remains in a stable condition.
The 54-year-old man was charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He was refused bail and will appear in Hornsby Magistrates Court later today.
