Man arrested after police pursuit through Adelaide

A man has been arrested following a police pursuit through Adelaide.

The driver, 32, allegedly refused to stop for police on Hanson Road in Woodville North at 10.30am this morning.

The silver Mitsubishi Lancer then sped off, police allege.

PolAir began following the car as it continued onto Torrens Roads, through Brompton and then the CBD.

The Mitsubishi then ran multiple red lights and drove on the wrong side of the road on West Terrance, Adelaide, according to police.

Police spiked the car's tyres on Conyingham Street, Glenside, in Adelaide's south.

The car still do not stop and continued through the suburb's backstreets on its rims, until eventually driving onto Greenhill Road, stopping at Burnside.

The driver was arrested and charged with driving dangerously to escape police pursuit, driving disqualified, driving at a dangerous speed and driving without due care.

Police believe the man was also involved in a crash with a taxi on Port Road, Thebarton.

No one was injured in the alleged crash.

The 33-year-old did not apply for bail and is expected to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.

Police are investigating if the Mitsubishi was stolen.
