Machete found in car allegedly speeding at 200km/h through Melbourne suburb
Police arrested a driver today accused of speeding at more than 200km/h through southern Melbourne.
Officers were alerted to the white Holden Commodore in the back streets of Brighton about 1.30am.
The car was allegedly spotted driving at more than 200km/h on the Nepean Highway before it entered a carpark on Jamieson Street in Cheltenham where the occupants left the vehicle.

Police searched the area and arrested the driver, a 44-year-old Melbourne man.
Officers found on him a key allegedly belonging to the Holden and a quantity of drugs.
Police also searched the car and seized a machete, a balaclava, housebreaking implements and an electronic device often used to gain access to and steal vehicles.
The same vehicle was spotted earlier today exceeding the speed limits on Beach Road, detectives allege.
The man will be interviewed today by investigators, while the Holden has been seized by police.
