Man dies in unit fire in Sydney suburb of Malabar
A man has been killed in a fire which consumed a ground floor unit in the Sydney suburb of Malabar.
More than 30 firefighters put out the blaze in Wyee Place after they were called at 9.50am today.
CPR was carried out on a man in his 50s who was taken from the home unresponsive.

He was unable to be revived and died at the scene.
He is yet to be formally identified.
Crews extinguished the fire before undertaking salvage and ventilation operations.
Police told 9News the unit, on the ground floor of a three-storey block, was "significantly damaged".

A crime scene was established and the unit will be forensically examined.
A brief will be prepared for the coroner.
Malabar is a small beachside suburb just south of Maroubra.
