M1 Pacific Motorway truck fire: Traffic delays expected

One northbound lane of the M1 Pacific Motorway has been reopened after a truck burst into flames at Morisset early this morning.

Emergency crews closed both lanes of the M1 at Freemans Drive as they worked to extinguish the blaze.

The driver was pulled to safety and thankfully not injured in the blaze.

The road closure forced lengthy delays on the M1 after diversions were put in place at Freemans Drive and Palmers Road.

Southbound traffic is not affected but drivers are being urged to use caution.

A salvage operation is still in progress, with both lanes to be temporarily shut down again for a full recovery of the truck and its load.
