Teenager stabbed during fight in South Australia

A teenager has been stabbed during a fight in South Australia.

Police were called to a home in Lower Light, 45 minutes north of Adelaide, at 10.45pm yesterday after reports of a "disturbance" between two groups of people.

A 17-year-old boy was stabbed during the altercation.

He was driven from the scene, but managed to flag down a patrol car on the Port Wakefield Highway.

The car was on its way to respond to the incident.

The teenager was seriously injured and was taken to hospital in an ambulance. His injuries are not life-threatening.

Police arrested a 23-year-old man, who they allege stabbed the teen.

He was charged with aggravated assault causing harm and was bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on October 10.

Police said the groups involved in the altercation were known to each other.
