Victorian man 'dumbfounded' after winning $1.5 million

A Victorian man has been left "dumbfounded" after winning $1.5 million in the weekly lotto draw.

The man from Hoppers Crossing won the division one prize in the TattsLotto draw 4603 on August 30.

There were four division one winners, with each one taking home $1,569,487.31.

The winning numbers were 10, 28, 5, 4, 9 and 36, and the supplementary numbers were 2 and 14.

The man found out he had won five days after the draw.

"It's a dizzying experience!" the man told The Lott after finding out he won.

"I always go to the same agency and play two tickets a week.

"But I just can't be bothered checking them straight away, so I usually only find out if I have a win when I go in the following week and collect $20 or $30.

"I went in today and asked them to check my ticket...the guy behind the counter said, 'Hang on, I've got good news for you'.

"I said, 'How good?'. He said, 'Very good news!'. Then he told me I'd won $1.5 million."

"I just stood there. I'm dumbfounded...It's a good feeling. The first thing that goes through your head is, 'you won't want for anything'.

"I lead a reasonably simple life. I'm not an extravagant spender."

He said he'll still go to work, but the win will help him out greatly.

"Nothing changes. I will still go to work," he said.

"It's just that if worst comes to worst, I won't have to worry about money.

"I'll pay off the house, but I won't touch the rest of it for a while. I'll invest it and think about how best to use it."

The winning ticket was bought from Super Lotto in Hogans Shopping Centre, Hoppers Crossing.

Owner John Falduto said the newsagency was thrilled the mystery winner turned out to be one of their regulars.

"We were thinking it was about time for another big win," he said.

"This is our twelfth division one win during the past 22 years!"

"Congratulations to our winner. We hope this changes your life in a positive way."
