A Canberra resident or visitor is $11 million richer after last night's lotto draw, but it appears they may not know it yet.

The mystery ticket-holder held the only division one entry, meaning they take home the entire unclaimed prize of $11.2 million.

As the ticket was unregistered, officials have no way of contacting the new multi-millionaire.

"Imagine waking up this morning and going about your usual Wednesday chores with no idea you've won $11 million," The Lott spokesperson Lauren Cooney said.

"Maybe they've shown up to work this morning when they could be resigning and planning an early retirement."

The ticket was purchased at Charnwood Newsagency, where owner Stephen Dowling said he couldn't wait for the lucky winner to come forward.

"We're asking everyone to check their tickets," Mr Dowling said.

"We will greet our winner with open arms. I can't wait to see the smile on their face."
