For one Adelaide university student, her Monday lecture will be one she will never forget after discovering she had won a division one lottery prize worth $4.8 million.

The 20-year-old woman from Glenelg will receive $20,000 a month for 20 years in Set for Life draw 1845, drawn on Monday.

"I was actually at uni in a lecture and I checked my emails and saw one from you (the Lott) telling me I'd won something," the woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, said.

"I was shocked! But since I was in a lecture, I couldn't really react. That was so hard because I just wanted to scream and jump up and down."

The winning ticket was purchased online on the Lott's website.
