Long term disqualified driver caught

A man disqualified from driving for almost 40 years has been caught behind the wheel again in Sydney's inner west, police say.
The 41-year-old was stopped at Tempe at about 5.30pm (AEDT) on Sunday after he allegedly tried to avoid a random breath test by turning into a nearby street.
He returned a negative breath test but allegedly gave officers false details.

Further checks enabled police to identify him and discover he was disqualified from driving until 2053.
The Sans Souci man was given a Field Court Attendance Notice for the offences of driving while disqualified and providing false details.
He will appear at Kogarah Local Court on April 1.
