Labor considers move against Lawler

Labor is considering taking up a challenge from Prime Minister Tony Abbott and pursue Fair Work Commission vice-president Michael Lawler through the parliament.

Mr Lawler, who has become embroiled in the affairs of his partner disgraced former union boss Kathy Jackson, was appointed to the commission's predecessor by Mr Abbott in 2002.

"We will see what emerges, what evidence emerges in coming days and weeks and see what our options are," Opposition Leader Bill Shorten told reporters in Perth on Friday, the day after Mr Abbott in parliament challenged him to pursue appropriate processes.
