Madden's embarrassing fall in bid for a woman

Joel Madden's desperate bid to win-over women on The Voice took a painful blow last night.

The US rocker was left literally dusting himself off after being tossed from his spinning red chair as he attempted a last-ditch effort for one of the contestants during the blind auditions.

The Good Charlotte frontman left his decision to turn around for former Australian Idol singer Hayley Jensen too late, hitting his buzzer seconds after the song ended.

Shocked by his own poorly-timed reaction, the competition coach jumped up and looked to see what he had missed before being caught off guard as his chair finally spun.

It tossed him to the floor, leaving him on his back with his legs and arms in the air in a cruel further blow to his quest for female contestants.

"The girls all hate me this year," he sadly complained after being helped back to his feet by Kylie Minogue.

So far Madden has struggled to convince women to join his team, though he has accrued his fair share of talented male performers.

Jensen ended up choosing Minogue over will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas to go through to the next round.

Thankfully Madden didn't seem too hurt, with the biggest injury likely to be a bruised ego.
