The 10 trades with the fastest-growing wages in Australia
Even as inflation pushes the consumer price index higher and higher, there are some jobs where wages are growing even faster.
New data from Seek has revealed the top 10 jobs where wage growth has outpaced CPI growth in the past five years.
With CPI rising 20.9 per cent since 2019, that's no mean feat.

10. Electrician (trades and services)
Electrician wages rose 23.48 per cent since 2019.
"Over the past five years, we've seen the demand for skilled trades rise, driven by robust industry growth and a persistent skills shortage," Seek head of employment analytics Leigh Broderick said.
"This has positively impacted salary growth in a number of roles."
9. Mechanic
Mechanic wages lifted 23.48 per cent since 2019.
"This is a testament to the opportunity for Australians to unlock stronger earning potential through wider skills and education routes such as trades," Broderick said.
8. Spraypainter
Spraypainter wages lifted by 28.2 per cent.
7. Machine operator (construction)
Machine operators in the construction industry saw wages increase by 28.7 per cent in five years.
6. Security officer
Remuneration in security jobs increased 28.99 per cent.
5. Excavator operator (mining, resources, and energy)
Big demand for excavator operators saw waged rise 29.26 per cent.
4. Hairdresser
Hairdresser wages increased 29.7 per cent.
3. Boilermaker
Boilermakers make on average 30.01 per cent more now than they did in 2019.
2. Panel beater
Panel beaters are in second place on the list, with wages rising 32.26 per cent.
