Internal rating of learning app 'no issue'

Federal education minister Simon Birmingham doesn't care if reviews of a government-backed education app written by the company which built it remain online.

Labor is demanding answers over what it says are the "corrupted" five-star evaluations of the Learning Potential app left by staff from developers BCM Partnership.

But Senator Birmingham told a Senate estimates hearing on Wednesday the app was a great resource for parents, and he couldn't care if the reviews were still there.

A handful of reviews out of more than 100 was insignificant, he said.

"If you're thinking people might be duped into downloading this app because of 12 reviews, well, little harm is going to come from that.

"In fact, I think great benefit will come, because it's a great app."
