Thousands of Sydney commuters to be impacted by bus strikes
Thousands of commuters in Sydney's Inner West will be impacted this week as bus drivers strike over "unfair" pay and long hours.
Drivers in the Inner West and the city's southern suburbs will stop work from 4am to 6am on Thursday, 5pm to 7pm on Friday and a 24-hour stoppage on Monday, December 6.
It comes after an "unfair two-tiered pay system" as a result of the NSW Government's privatisation of public bus operations, the Rail, Tram and Bus Union (RTBU) NSW said.

David Babineau, the Tram and Bus Division Secretary, said there are bus drivers who are receiving a "lower salary, less holiday leave and work longer hours than their colleagues".
"We really don't want to be taking this action, but we've been left with no choice," he said.
"We are confident commuters will understand why their local bus driver cannot stand back and allow this outrageous mistreatment of themselves and their colleagues to continue."

The union said bus drivers in region six have a lower salary, did not receive the public service pay rise, have one week less of annual leave, and work longer days.
The strike will impact commuters on the Inner West and southern suburbs routes.
People are urged to allow more time for travel on the days of the strikes.
