Horse freed from Gold Coast swimming pool

Emergency services have drained a backyard swimming pool on the Gold Coast to free a horse that became trapped for more than two hours this afternoon.

Three fire crews, including a rescue vehicle, were called to the property on Tuesday Drive at Tallebudgera Valley at 12.45pm.

The pool was drained and crews, along with residents and a veterinarian, attempted to coax the animal out of the pool with feed.

A makeshift ramp was also constructed to help get the horse out, but it eventually managed to leap out by itself around 3pm.

It is unclear how the horse ended up inside the pool.

The animal did not suffer any injuries.
