Police emergency in Queensland city ends with arrest of armed man
Police today lifted a lockdown of streets in the southern Queensland city of Hervey Bay after an armed man was arrested.
Events began when officers were called to a property on Boat Harbour Drive in the suburb of Urangan about 12pm yesterday in response to reports of a disturbance.
A man was found armed with a knife and making threats.

Officers issued an emergency declaration last night and set up an exclusion zone encompassing Boat Harbour Drive, Lavell Street, Hammond Street and Toni Street.
Negotiations continued early today as the exclusion zone was extended.
But at 6.44am the man was arrested and taken to hospital with a non-life-threatening injury. He is helping police with inquiries.
