Green bill to overhaul political donations

The Greens have introduced a private bill to overhaul the political donations system.
The bill, introduced in the Senate on Wednesday, would reduce the donation disclosure threshold to $1000 and ban anonymous gifts worth more than $50.
It would introduce new offences and penalties while strengthening penalties for existing offences.
