The Turnbull government will look to Barangaroo in Sydney and the city of Adelaide as it gears up for a push toward carbon neutral cities.
The government is looking at expanding its carbon neutral certification scheme, which recognises companies for their emissions reductions, to cities and precincts.
The Environment Department will work with the two cities to develop and test the framework, Environment Minister Greg Hunt said on Tuesday.
