Govt ending waste on unused leases
AAP
The federal government has saved almost $200 million since the 2013 election by filling unused Canberra office space leased by the Commonwealth.
Various departments and agencies have filled 42,000 square metres of previously vacant and surplus space so far and the government is working to fill a further 18,000 square metres that will become available in 2016.
The program will now be rolled out nationally.
