Get ready for warmer, drier summer

Southeast Australia's run of wetter-than-usual months is coming to an end.

The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting above-average warm days and nights, along with below-average rain for most parts of the continent between December and February.

The outlook was strongly influenced by a climate driver called the Southern Annular Mode, which is expected to be in a negative phase in December, the bureau says.
