Former prime minister Malcolm Fraser's death was unexpected and a shock for his family, one of his daughters says.
Angela Marshall, one of Mr Fraser's four children, made a surprise phone call to Melbourne ABC talk back radio on Monday morning to thank people for their kind words about her father.
"Listening to the radio or news has not always been the happiest of experiences in the family, regarding dad," she said.

She said the family was staying strong.
"It was quite sudden and unexpected and a shock to everyone," she said of her father's death.
"He's going to be missed very much, missed by all of us in the family."
