Four dead in crashes across three states

Four people are dead and several others have been injured in accidents across three states on the weekend.

Two men were killed in separate road accidents in regional Victoria early on Sunday, with one crash resulting in the closure of a main highway.

A man in his 30s died when his motorcycle was involved in a head-on collision with a car in Victoria's southwest, while one of the car passengers, believed to be a woman aged in her 20s, suffered minor injuries.

The second road death occurred near Mount Moriac, when a van driver lost control of his vehicle on the Princes Highway and collided with a tanker truck about 3.15am.

The van driver, believed to be aged in his 40s, died at the scene.

In Queensland, a 37-year-old woman died at the scene after her four-wheel drive veered off Murgon Gayndah Road at Murgon on Saturday night, police said.

Meanwhile, a man died and five other people were taken to hospital after their car rolled in South Australia's far north on Saturday night.

The male passenger died at the scene and three others were airlifted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital after the accident on Challenger Access Road near Tarcoola on Saturday night.

The injured remain in a stable condition.

The driver and a fifth passenger were treated at Coober Pedy Hospital.
