Former Western Sydney Airport employee charged over alleged $200,000 bribe
A former Western Sydney Airport employee has been charged with allegedly soliciting a $200,000 bribe following a joint investigation by the Australian Federal Police (AFP) and the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC).
Investigators allege the former employee solicited a $200,000 bribe during the procurement process of a $5 million contract to provide services at the new airport.
AFP officers arrested the former employee on Wednesday and formally charged them with soliciting a corrupt commission.

They have been bailed and will appear at the Downing Centre Local Court on April 18.
NACC Commissioner Paul Brereton has chosen to make the charges public to "highlight the risk of corruption in high-value and complex procurements in the Commonwealth sector", the commission said in a statement.
"The Commission acknowledges the timely and proactive actions of Western Sydney Airport (WSA) in referring the matter to the Commission and the AFP.
"WSA's cooperation was a key enabler of the investigation."
The Western Sydney Airport is considered a commonwealth agency, meaning its employees fall under the NACC's jurisdiction.
