A special investigation is underway after a man, believed to be 49, died in a crash after a police chase.
At 2.30pm yesterday, officers from Central West Police District tried to stop a Nissan Navara on the Newell Highway at Forbes, 300km north west of Sydney in the NSW Central West.
Officers said it had failed to stop.

Soon after it was involved in a crash with the truck.
The Nissan driver died, and the truck driver wasn't injured but was taken to hospital for testing.
A critical incident team comprised of officers from Chifley Police District will investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
That investigation will be subject to independent review.
Law Enforcement Conduct Commission confirmed it's investigating.
