Fire guts Sydney unit and damages three others
Investigators are yet to determine the cause of a raging inferno which destroyed a unit in Punchbowl in south-west Sydney overnight.
Seven fire trucks and 28 firefighters rushed to the unit block on Victoria Road about 11pm.
The emergency crews arrived to find a top floor unit of a two-level unit block well alight.

Firefighters were able to put out the fire inside the unit but then noticed the fire blaze had jumped into the roof space and spread into the common roof area.
Crews withdrew from the building amid concerns the roof might collapse, but continued to fight the blaze from the outside using ladder platform trucks, eventually bringing the blaze under control.
Fire and Rescue NSW said there were about 15 residents who self-evacuated from the property.

One of the residents was treated on scene by NSW Ambulance for smoke inhalation.
The residents have been unable to return to their homes due to fears over its structural integrity.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined as investigators are waiting for engineers to confirm the building is safe before they can enter the property.
