Melbourne tobacco store targeted in ram-raid
Police are investigating whether a ram raid that partly damaged a shop front in Melbourne's north overnight is linked to a string of arson attacks across the state.
Emergency services were called to the tobacco store on Major Road in Fawkner about 4.45am.
Police believe an offender rammed a car into the roller door of the shopfront before attempting to set the vehicle alight.

A crime scene was established following the incident. Nine
The offender abandoned the car before fleeing the scene on foot.
No one was inside at the time of the incident.
Detectives will investigate whether the damage to the store has any links to other recent similar incidents.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, with dashcam or seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
