Family flees burning Victoria home

A man has been injured in a Melbourne house fire that forced a family to flee to safety.
The single storey house in Laverton was already engulfed in flames by the time firefighters arrived just before 2am on Monday, an Metropolitan Fire Brigade spokesman said.
A family had been stirred by a smoke alarm and were able to flee before the flames took hold.

A man in his 30s, however, suffered minor injuries and an ambulance was called to the scene.
The home was severely damaged in the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
