Fairy Meadow: Truck crashes into McDonald’s car park

An out-of-control truck has crashed into the car park of a McDonald’s restaurant near Wollongong.

Seven NSW Ambulance crews responded after the truck lost control about 10.45am and careered into the car park of a McDonalds at Fairy Meadow, on the Princess Highway.

The truck, reportedly a Hino table top, cleared a roundabout before hitting a fire hydrant and four vehicles before crashing into a block of units.

NSW Police have confirmed the truck came to rest pinning a car against a unit block wall.

A 35-year-old male is in a serious condition, a 17-year-old female and a woman in her 50s, both have minor injuries.

"These people have been very very fortunate, they've gotten away with minor injuries under the circumstances," said Inspector Terry Morrow. 

The driver of the truck, a male in his 20s, is being treated for lower back injuries and has been transported to Wollongong hospital.
