Extinction Rebellion protesters shut down Brisbane CBD streets again

Extinction Rebellion protesters have shut down streets in Brisbane's CBD for the second time this week.

The environmental activists staged a sit-in on the intersection of Edward and Queen Street, causing major peak hour delays for drivers.

At least five people have been arrested after refusing to leave the road.

The demonstration comes after tt on Monday morning for parking a rental truck across the same intersection.

Drivers leaving the city are being warned to expect major delays.
