Threat level for bushfire near Esperance downgraded

An emergency bushfire warning for Pink Lake, in WA's Goldfields-Esperance region, has been downgraded.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) issued the emergency warning for an area bounded by Barook Road, Kings Mill Retreat, Helms Drive and Eleven Mile Beach Road in the western part of Pink Lake.
It has since been downgraded to a watch and act message.
Residents are still urged to leave now if the way is clear.
"The alert level for this fire has been downgraded due to favourable wind changes and rising humidity level," DFES said in a statement at 6.34pm (AWST).
"There is a possible threat to lives and homes as a fire is burning in the area.
"You need to leave or get ready to actively defend."
The fire started near the intersection of Thompson Street and Downes Street in Pink Lake.
