An exclusion zone is in place in a rural Queensland locality with a police operation under way.

Emergency services were called to an address on Shand Street, Mount Perry, in the North Burnett region, at about 3.41am.

There were reports of a man making threats.

Police have made an emergency declaration in Mount Perry, Queensland, setting up an exclusion zone. Queensland Police

An exclusion zone has been put in place encompassing Shand Street, Hunter Street, and Mason Street.

Residents within the zone are asked to stay indoors, and other members of the public are urged to avoid the area.
