Elderly Sydney man faces court over historical sexual assaults

A 73-year-old man will front court today to face allegations he assaulted three young girls in Sydney's south west.

The man was arrested at his Moorebank home in early April this year and was charged with 11 offences.

In February, this year police received reports that two girls, aged 7 and 10, had allegedly been sexually assaulted by a man known to them.

The matter was referred to detectives from the State Crime Command's Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad, who commenced an investigation under Strike Force Elbora.

Police were later contacted by a woman who alleged she had been indecently assaulted by a man known to her when she was a teenager between 1988 and 1992.

The man was taken to Liverpool Police Station where he was charged with 11 offences including; three counts of sexual intercourse with child under age of 10 years (DV), four counts of produce child abuse material, two counts of indecent assault person under 16 years of age, observe person in private act without consent-aggravated, and sexual assault-assault & commit act of indecency.

Police will allege in court that the man sexually touched the girls on multiple occasions between 1988 and 2018.
